Denise, DHP |
Denise, registered dental hygiene practitioner, owner and operator of Clean Between. Unfortunately, Denise has not been practising dental hygiene since shoulder surgery in 2018. A second shoulder surgery was done in late 2023 and she is focusing all of her attention on her rehab and recovery.
Denise has worked very hard to find the right hygienists to provide care for her patients while she continues working on her recovery. |
Denise graduated from The College of New Caledonia in Prince George with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene, in 1998. Her passion for oral health took her overseas, where she gained invaluable experience from working directly with highly skilled, knowledgeable dentists and specialists.
In January of 2012, Denise officially opened the first Independent Dental Hygiene Clinic in the West Kootenays. Following that, Denise completed the DECOD (Dentistry for Persons with Disabilities) program through the University of Washington. This certification provides Denise with the knowledge and skills to work as a residential care dental hygienist. Denise has also completed the IST course offered by the Canadian Denatl Hygiene Association (CHDA). IST certification allows Denise to provide temporary interim restorations in situations where patients are otherwise unable to access dental services.
Denise continues to educates herself by attending dental conventions, webinars, reading, learning about and trying the newest dental products and equipment on the market. She speaks and co-hosts a local dental hygiene study club, hosts events to share her dental hygiene knowledge with Rotary members, in hospital settings, schools and mommy and baby groups. Most importantly Denise worked hard to upgrade her credentials from Registered Dental Hygienist to Dental Hygiene Practitioner.
Denise is now building her team of dental hygienists in BC to help bring care to the under served. With over 25 years of clinical experience, you can trust that you will receive the highest quality of care from Denise's team.

Charlene, RDH
Charlene graduated from Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene in 2022. Previous to gaining her diploma in dental hygiene, she worked as a dental office receptionist. She is passionate about dental hygiene and oral health and loves educating herself and building her skills through workshops, courses, and her peers.
She was born and raised in Vancouver, BC and her and her family recently made the decision to make Castlegar their home.
Charlene's interests outside of the office include gardening, thrifting and cozying up with a good book. On weekends she looks forward to going on adventures and spending time with her partner and twin boys.
She looks forward to exploring all that the Kootenays have to offer and build new connections and community here in Castlegar!

Natasha, RDH
Natasha has been a dental hygienist for over a decade, with many more years prior in the dental profession. In 2023 she started offering rural dental hygiene services in her hometown of Bella Coola. Natasha's passion is to bring services to all people, so she decided to take a bold step and join the Clean Between team. Currently living in Haida Gwaii, the traditional home of the Haida people, she makes fly in visits to provide services to those in need in Bella Coola. With her success in Bella Coola, Natasha recently started to provide dental hygiene care to her friends and neighbours in Haida Gwaii.
Her dental hygiene career has been varied and includes private practice, public health, community services, and volunteering with dental charities. She has lived and worked in the Lower Mainland, Kootenays, Central Coast and Northern B.C. This gives her an understanding of the unique and very different challenges of practising in urban and rural/remote areas as well as private practice, corporate and non-profit environments.
Natasha tirelessly advocates for respectful and equitable access to dental hygiene services for all British Columbians. With the roll out of the new federal dental care plan, she recognises there needs to be an increased profile and advocacy for expanding the role of Dental Hygienists in Independent Practice.

He graduated with a diploma in dental hygiene from the Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene in 2012. Since completing the program he remains an avid learner continually increasing his knowledge and clinical skills in all things dental with both in person and on-line continuing education programs. He truly enjoys working with his patients to help them improve their dental health and help educate them to achieve their oral health goals.
Daniel has had the opportunity to volunteer overseas twice, with the Kindness in Action team, a group that provides dental services to those who do not have access to care. He enjoys using his dental hygiene skills and experience to serve the local community. He takes an active role in the local Rotary Youth Leadership Conference as well as creating presentations to educate others about the local LGBTQ community.
In his free time he enjoys all things “Plants”; from carnivorous to orchids, bonsai to fungi. He loves to see things grow! Before becoming a dental hygienist he trained as a chef; cooking, fermenting and preserving. His kitchen creations always bring family and friends together. When he's not growing or creating in the kitchen, he likes to cuddle with his two cats Statler and Waldorf.
